The impact of climate change, similar to many places in Mauritius and around the world, has not spared the coastline in front of Sands Suites Resort & Spa. You may remember that in 2002, we undertook basic preventing measures to save our beach. Unfortunately, we have seen a severe sand erosion to our beach.
After submission of the necessary documentation to the local authorities in July 2021, we received on the 16th March 2022 their approval to conduct the beach rehabilitation. This process will take place from 01st June to 31st July 2022.
As per our commitment to making Sands a sustainable resort, the beach rehabilitation will be undertaken under the strict supervision of our climate change experts and consultants, and local authorities as per the local norms.
